Hooray! The time has finally come: the doors to Escher in The Palace will be opening again to the public. As of 5 June, you are welcome to visit us again. To visit Escher in The Palace you have to reserve tickets beforehand via this website. Alongside the permanent Escher exhibition you can now also enjoy the exhibition Graphic Grandeur: Escher and his Contemporaries.

Graphic Grandeur: Escher and his Contemporaries

The most famous printmaker in the Netherlands is without a doubt M.C. Escher. His graphic art depicting optical illusions has earned him a unique place in both national and international art history. But he was not the only Dutch printmaker of importance in his time. The exhibition 'Graphic Grandeur: Escher and his Contemporaries' at Escher in The Palace highlights the graphic art of Escher's Dutch contemporaries.

New acquisition in the museum

Escher in The Palace recently acquired the sculpture Antigravity (2019) by Canadian sculptor and architect David Umemoto through a special acquisition fund. The sculpture is currently on view in room 9 at the museum, between M.C. Escher’s prints.
